We’ve heard a lot of conjecture this week about possible clashes of release dates between Warhammer and Wrath of the Lich King.
But another interesting news snippet was that Warhammer plans a full localised and supported release in Russia in early 2009. Interesting why? Well, apart from the huge potential market, WoW Europe has also just announced their new Russian language forums (click here if you actually speak Russian) as the first stage of their Russian localisation plan which is currently still in alpha.
This is great news for Russian gamers, who stand to get a choice of two first class MMORPGs to play in their own language, but also shows how the various executives are looking at potential markets. It’s not cheap to provide servers and fully localised support to the level that players now expect. This is the kind of backup that having EA behind you can provide.
