June Newsletter, female white lions, paul’s video blog etc.

Ah, those crazy guys at GOA have done it again. The June newsletter is up on the website so presumably hitting everyone’s email soonish.

edited to add: Right then, I have my email version so quickly running down on this month’s contents:

1. Guild beta. Will be starting in July. Will include guilds from many different MMORPGs. Will be testing content including the White Lion, PvE Dungeons, new scenarios and PQs, heraldry and standards, guild rewards, crafting, and real time web updates with character profiles and RvR stats.

2. Magus career update

3. Discussion of dungeons with a video of the bastien stairs

4. Discussion of what beta testers have been testing this month with a selection of comments from beta testers (natually all the comments are positive ones 😛 ). They are testing all classes except for white lion, hammerer, knight of the blazing sun, choppa, blackguard, and magus.

5. Scenarios 101: Gates of Ekrund and Mourkain Temple

6. More on career masteries for the archmage (I’m intrigued by the buff/debuff tree, but … it’s an elf! major trauma!) and disciple of khaine.

7. Some pretty nice concept art for NPCs. I liked the assassin, wonder if they’ll introduce them as a male varient for witch elves?

8.  podcasts.

9. fan art and fanfic and beta journal. Check out this rather stunning Squiq picture byTyler Derk. In yer face!

10. grab bag about white lions

11. Couple more dev team profiles. Wouldn’t let me at the links for lack of password but I checked them out on the EU site.

  1. yay, they answered my question – yay to female white lions!

  2. Do you know of anyone who’s compiled a list of class restrictions on gender?

(I know there’s been a bunch of information released on gender restrictions, but it’s scattered across a dozen interviews, grab bags and forum posts, so it would be really useful if someone had compiled it one place …)

  3. I’ll definitely be checking out the Archmage if the KotBS doesn’t knock me over.

  4. Lepenski: Here’s basically the only class restricted classes
    Maurader and Chosen: Male Only
    Witch Elf: Female only

The rest of the classes should be avalible in both female and male form, (except for the Greenskins ofcourse).
And in case you didn’t know, the greenskin restrictions goes like this:
Choppa and Black Orc: Orcs only.
Shaman and Squig Hearder: Goblin only.

    Simple like pie!

  5. Where is the new career info on the Magus? Just interested in how the overhaul has changed the class.

  6. It’s actually in the newsletter.

I’ll cut and paste the new sounding bits:

The Magus can call forth several different types of daemonic fiends, but can only maintain the concentration needed to restrain a single one at a time. A clever Magus therefore makes sure to best fit his summoning to his need: a Pink Horror which flings bolts of fire corruption at distant enemies, a Blue Horror which spews out waves of warping energy around itself, or a Flamer which spits blasts of fire at groups of enemies.

There’s a screenshot of a magus with a pink horror (it looks a bit daft but that’s daemons for you)

  7. hmmm the horror is acceptable as the magus armour is so cool.

Thanks very much for the information!

I am signed up for the newsletter but have never received it *sigh*

  8. I used to only receive it every 3 newsletters, but now I seem to be getting each one. Not sure why!

  9. I have never received a single one. Keep checking my status on war-europe but it always says I am signed up for it already 😦

  10. Have you tried signing up with another email address? Or checking to see if y our email filter is putting it into spam?

  11. Did you check the Community Spotlight too?

  12. I think we’re currently blushing over that 🙂

  13. *hide*

I can’t believe I missed that. Err … I was tired and it didn’t have a picture of a pink demon next to it? Oh wait, it kind of is next to that picture …

But thanks a lot! We’re really enjoying the blog and I hope other people are too. It’s kind of fun to have an EU perspective.
