Vote! Vote!

Polls are still up and active over a possible European get-together, spread the word and vote!

Next week: First interview, some cool Warhammer vids (linked to, anyway) and some news about a little trip.

Update on poll

So far it’s quite healthy – around 60-70 people who’d be interested in a Euro get-together, depending on price/location/etc. There’s a resounding approval for London, but not discounting other locations too. Keep voting!

Random poll time

Just something that’s been on my mind for a while – does the European Warhammer Online community want a get-together? I picked fairly random options for answers, but gave each poll the chance to add your own comments, so pass the link on, get people discussing it and maybe it’ll one day happen! At least we should poll interest I think, so if you can direct people to these polls, I’d be very happy. Also, please use the comments to add to the mix. Something I just thought of that I didn’t have a question about – would it be better to attach it to something like Games Day or GenCon? Think about it!

(and before anyone even accuses me of it, yes.. I put in London for GB option, all the cities I picked, bar Dublin perhaps, were simply suggestions – I’d be happier to have it in Newcastle, if I had my way!!!)

Greatest game poll

GAME have just revealed their greatest game poll, which saw Call of Duty 4 take the top spot. Of more interest here was that World of Warcraft managed to get to number 12, with the next and only other MMO in the chart Guild Wars at 93. The poll was cross-platform, but still shows the work (or the lowest denominator appeal) an MMO has to put in to be in with a chance in that kind of vote. In better news, perhaps, the poll had tons of RPGs in it and analysis showed that roleplaying games were the most popular genre, thanks to the Final Fantasy series, Mass Effect, Oblivion and World of Warcraft. [GAME is one of the biggest games retail chains in the UK, if you didn’t know!]

In other general news, Age of Conan has topped the UK PC games chart for the third week in a row, managing to even hold off Mass Effect from the top spot. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Soulstorm is at no. 9 and the World of Warcraft Battlechest is at no. 10. None of these make it into the cross-format chart though.
